Statistical Consulting Centers at other Universities

More than 50 centers and institutes with a mission similar to MSU’s CSTAT operate in US research universities. Most of these “CSTATS” offer both training and statistical consulting. Some provide substantial on-line instructional materials.

One that is especially recommended for its comprehensive set of online reference and instructional materials is the Statistical Computing Service at UCLA.

Now hiring full time Specialist

CSTAT has an open slot for a Specialist; we intend to fill it with someone who has the skills of a Senior Biostatistician. The Specialist will work with the Director and Associate Director to carry out CSTAT’s mission and will provide statistical consulting services directly to our clients. This includes: assisting with grant development and sponsored research; serving as the statistician on projects; preparing bids (cost estimates); offering clients resources and advice on research design and statistical methods; explaining concepts, methods, and how to run or interpret statistical analyses.
