This workshop will provide an overview of item response modeling, a family of statistical techniques for analyzing test and questionnaire data. We will start with a brief introduction to philosophies of measurement and discuss how item response modeling can be used to achieve effective measurement. We will work through analyses of dichotomous item data, including a discussion of how to determine the number of dimensions underlying a group of items.
