Some CSTAT Seminars are available for Responsible and Ethical Conduct of Research (RECR) for discussion based credits. Themes are mostly rigor and reproducibility and on data management for quantitative fields. These seminars are are marked as "Available for RECR credit" in the seminar descriptions. Online: R skills for Data Science - Initial data analysis

CSTAT Certificate Course: Module 5

Objectives: Participants will understand the framework of initial data analysis (IDA) including meta data, data cleaning, data screening, reporting, and updating the analysis plan. Participants will apply skills learned in the prior modules to follow a systematic approach of IDA in order to avoid a non-transparent impact on conclusions of an analysis.

CSTAT Certificate Course - Module 4

Objectives: Participants will be able to calculate confidence intervals and hypothesis tests and power including the bootstrap method. Participants will be able to perform different types of regression models and interpret the output.

CSTAT Certificate Course - Module 3

Objectives: Participants will understand good graphical principles, select the appropriate graph for different types of variables or multiple variables in the same graph. Labeling, color, format is created with the R package ggplot2.

CSTAT will be offering a Certificate Course beginning in March (after Spring break).
Times: Thursdays 5:00-7:30pm for 5 weeks.

Objectives: Participants will be able to use R for beginning and intermediate tasks for data management and statistical analyses. Participants will be able to write a data analysis report using R markdown.
